I would like to invite you to the ICCNY on Saturday December 6 at 4:30 PM
to meet a very special guest Mr. Ahmed Farouk, the Egyptian ambassador to
the US. This is an opportunity to discuss issues that concern the Islamic
and Middle Eastern community in the US and also thank the ambassador for
his support in locating and sponsoring a dual language (Arabic and
English) speaking Imam for our center from the top graduates of Al-Azhar
university in Cairo. The sponsorship means that the new Imam will be
compensated by the ICCNY for only room and board while serving our
community. Also it will give us flexibility to request an immediate
replacement of the Imam in the event he is unable to serve our community’s
religious needs. More information about the new Imam will come your way
soon.
There will be a catered dinner for the event, so please respond to this
email indicating the number of people attending from your family. This
will help us avoid waste and plan the amount of food required for the
event. Kids will be asked to stay in the downstairs area. We are looking
for 2-4 parents to volunteer to supervise the kids (depending on the
number of kids accompanying their parents)
